Research

Adaptive Context Aware Framework For Mobile Application Management

Projects

Where are you from and where did you complete your undergraduate studies?

I am originally from the Caribbean. After completing my advanced levels  on the island. I flew to Malaysia and completed a Bachelors of Computer Science(Software Engineering)(Hons) in 2011. From 2012 to early 2014, I worked as a network administrator and also instructed some computer science courses at a college. In 2013, I co-founded a start up software development company in the Caribbean known as:

Engineering Business Ideas To Tangible Solutions (eBits).

What is your research about and why are you excited about your projects?

In the mobile computing era, smart mobile phones are being integrated in our everyday lives. Many applications are available for download that helps the user manage different aspects of their day-to-day activities. On average users between ages 18-24 only use about 28 apps per month.Think about  the clutter of having so many apps taking up the real estate on the screen or having to scroll through lot of pages just to find the app you need.

My research proposes an Adaptive Context Aware Framework for Mobile Application Management where the user's context such as but not limited to, time and location are continuously being monitored and only relevant apps (dynamic arrangement) will be displayed on the users.

What do you like to do outside of your research and academics?

Outside of my academics, I am an active tennis player and I try to be in the gym whenever I can. Apart from that I love exploration, I enjoy travelling and totally would like to go skydiving. Since I’m fairly new to BC, I would like to visit the sites. I heard it's great here. Finally, I'm also working towards getting my diving certificate.

What are your career goals and future plans?

As for my future career plans,  I want to be apart of the  new cutting edge innovations in future technological advances. With that I see my self working in R&D. Ultimately, the goal is to move some of my MSc or Phd (later) work into a commercial product.
